Texas lawmaker: Asians should change their names to make them ‘easier for Americans to deal with.’
On Tuesday, State Rep. Betty Brown (R) caused a firestorm during House testimony on voter identification legislation when she said that Asian-Americans should change their names because they’re too hard to pronounce:
“Rather than everyone here having to learn Chinese — I understand it’s a rather difficult language — do you think that it would behoove you and your citizens to adopt a name that we could deal with more readily here?” Brown said.
Brown later told [Organization of Chinese Americans representative Ramey] Ko: “Can’t you see that this is something that would make it a lot easier for you and the people who are poll workers if you could adopt a name just for identification purposes that’s easier for Americans to deal with?”
Yesterday, Brown continued to resist calls to apologize. Her spokesman said that Democrats “want this to just be about race.”

...Hmmm...
I'm just blogging. Currently at yu's garden.. Eating like there's no tom:). I been having some really good food for the past couple of days, due to the fact that my rents are on vacation, so this has its good and bad sides to it.. The food part is great, but the hanging out with my rents part.. Idk I'm usually ok with it, but today was just sort of eehh... Like I shouldve passed on it, cause I guess I was more easily agitated today, so that was pretty annoying, I'm not saying it was a bad day, but just cause I was easily agitated then I was just ehh...
We went to return some stuff earlier, then went to target to look for a tv wall mount, which, we went to 3 diff target and still no luck.. Oh well. I think we might look for it again tomorrow or something.. But yuki's off tomorrow, so we might do everything 2gether. Get the tv wall mount, and we're going to mit-mit(mitsuwa) 2 eat santoka ramen.. Yay!! I'm already feeling so good abt it! Haha!! Oh also I have class tomorrow in the morning, I really don't want to b late, so I'll have to wake up extra early tom.. Cause if we're late we'll be forced to say something along the lines of "I'm sorry we're late" blah blah blah, in japanese.. See?? I'd rather not:) oh and DAMN!! We have a test tomorrow in class, that's not gonna b good, hopefully I'll do well, the last quiz for the hiragana quiz I did 88 out of 100.. Boo I'm dissapointed with that one, but the other quiz I got 100/100 yay!! I really want to do well.. But how can I without studying right?? Haha!! I'm too lazy to study.. Oh well.. I'll try hard!!
