Death Note

A U.S. version of the Japanese version popular series are in talks of being made right now, it will be anounced in or around 2010 if not sooner. No Word on who will be playing the characters yet.

American movie studio Vertigo Entertainment is apparently working on a remake of the popular franchise “Death Note,” which has been turned into three live-action films in Japan. The news was quietly revealed in production notes for the horror films “Shutter” and “The Strangers.”

Vertigo entertainments list of movies they produced includes

Lovely Complex

Lovely Complex is made into a live action movie. I just had the pleasure of watching it. I think it has been out in japan for a while. But i just finished it a couple of weeks ago, and just remembered to blog abt it now. haha! go figure!

Lovely Complex is a love story between a boy and a girl. The girl, Risa Koizumi, is 172 cm tall - much taller than the average Japanese girl. The boy, Atsushi Otani, is 156 cm - way below the height of the average Japanese boy. Because of this, they are known as their school's comedy duo because there is a popular comedy duo that has a similar height difference. So people also call them "All Hanshin Kyojin" team.
During summer school, a very tall student (from another class) shows up and Risa immediately falls for him, as she has had bad luck with boys in the past because she is tall. There is a girl that Atsushi likes as well, so Risa and Atsushi decide to put aside their differences and help each other get their love interests. But as they get to know each other better, Risa's feelings for Atsushi begin to blossom, and her love life gets complicated from there.

Bleach DiamondDust Rebbelion

DECEMBER 27 2007 is the theatrical release for Japan. I wonder when it would come to the U.S.? this looks very interesting.


Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion Mō Hitotsu no Hyōrinmaru

(劇場版BLEACH The DiamondDust Rebellion もう一つの氷輪丸, Gekijōban Burīchi Za Daiyamondo Dasuto Reberion Mō Hitotsu no Hyōrinmaru?, Full Japanese title "Bleach the Movie: The DiamondDust Rebellion, Another Hyōrinmaru") is the second animated film based on the anime and manga series Bleach. The movie will be directed by Noriyuki Abe and written by Michiko Yokote, and is slated for theatrical release on December 22, 2007. The theme music for the movie will be "Rock of Light" (光のロック, Hikari no Rokku?)

The film's tagline is
Execute Tōshirō Hitsugaya! (日番谷冬獅郎を処刑せよ。, Hitsugaya Tōshirō o shokeiseyo.?)


Plot Summary:

When an artifact known as the "King's Seal" is stolen during transport from Soul Society, Tōshirō Hitsugaya is assigned to retrieve it. Hitsugaya goes missing after a battle with the thieves, leading Seireitei to suspect him of treachery. They order his immediate capture and execution. Unwilling to believe that he is capable of such a crime, Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Rangiku Matsumoto, and Renji Abarai set out to find Hitsugaya and clear his name.
Meanwhile, Hitsugaya is still searching for the thieves, and stumbles upon a dark secret involving a shinigami long since dead.

Sooo.. this is kinda sad.. like there's no originality in it.. they're remaking 1 missed call here. it was originaly japanese made 2003. they're planning on releasing it 08. i saw the japanese one, and it was pretty cool. i liked it.. i dont know much about the american one. we'll just have to wait and see i guess.
